Impact on professional organisations and NHS providers

After the toolkit was developed and disseminated, the research team were approached by three UK organisations who wished to work with the research team to explore the use of the toolkit in practice in capturing the impact on their roles. During 2013 we have been involved in piloting the toolkit with these three groups of consultant practitioners. These groups have provided feedback on how the toolkit has helped them to explore their impact in practice and provided feedback to help the research team further refine and develop the framework for capturing impact and develop the toolkit itself.

In each site, two workshops were held to explore the framework, toolkit and tools, and gather feedback from the practitioners. Copies of the slides from the workshops are available here - workshop 1 & workshop 2 follow-up.

Reports were written at each site following the pilot work and summarising the feedback received. These reports are available here:

- The Consultant Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional (CNMHP) Forum
for Wales

- Nurse Consultants at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH)

- Nurse Consultants at Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Furthermore, the toolkit has also been reported to be a useful training resource and was used in the consultant midwife training programme in Hampshire and Isle of Wight Strategic Health Authority to guide completion of professional portfolios. A summary report relating to this work is available here.
