NIHR CLAHRC Yorkshire & Humber

The Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care are part of a programme funded by the National Institute for Health Research.  The CLAHRC for South Yorkshire (CLAHRC SY: 2008 to 2013) and the CLAHRC for Leeds, York and Bradford (CLAHRC LYB; 2008 to 2013) have worked together to create an exciting new collaboration encompassing the whole Yorkshire and Humber region. We work closely with the NHS, universities, patients and carers, charities and industry partners to bring about changes in health services, with a specific focus on the self-management of long-term conditions.
The Vision for CLAHRC YH: We will undertake high quality applied research and evidence based implementation that is responsive to, and in partnership with, our collaborating organisation, patient, carers and the public.  The outcome being an improvement in both the health and wealth of the population of Yorkshire and Humber.

Devices4Dignity

Devices for Dignity is a National pilot Department of Health programme. We’ve been set up to drive forward innovative new products, processes and services to help people with debilitating conditions deal with their daily challenges.

Through working with inventors, clinical and healthcare staff, industry, academics and patients, we want to bring real solutions to areas of clinical and patient need. KYOTO Design Lab

KYOTO Design Lab (D-Lab) is a centre for interdisciplinary design innovation projects in collaboration with industry, the public sector and other national and international partners. It was set up in 2014 and explores the range of methodologies intrinsic to the practice of design. The very best designers and researchers are invited from around the globe to stay in Kyoto – a world renowned centre of culture.  D-Lab creates protypes of new visions of society and serves as an incubator of social innovation.
