How they were put together

These resources were devised by a collective of teachers and researchers as part of the Research Mobilities in Primary Literacy Education research project: Simon Collis, Emily Edwards, Daisy Johnson, Vikki Varley, Ross Watson, David Shannon, Parinita Shetty, Cathy Burnett.

We worked together to explore what might be useful to teachers in supporting encounters with different kinds of research. Our starting points were insights gained through the Research Mobilities in Primary Literacy Education project.

Recognising that engaging with research can take time and there is an overwhelming array of available sources, we wanted to support encounters with research that are accessible and enjoyable.

Recognising that research can be bewildering and that it can be hard to evaluate research due to lack of information, we wanted to demystify research.

Recognising that research can be used in ways that close down options, we wanted to suggest ways of engaging with research that open out possibilities and which support professional conversations and critical engagement with research.
