What have we achieved?
The SWIPE project was an opportunity to be innovative in an underdeveloped learning context. The work will contribute to social work education, locally, nationally and internationally. As well as the module outline and curriculum the following products were developed and most feature on this site, with some to follow.
- audit of current practice learning in each country
- a 'core curriculum' for teaching in the academy or 'on-site', to be used cross-nationally with a menu of teaching materials
- an electronic, virtual learning object, piloted by students from four of the participating universities
- extensive bibliography
- publications and presentations
- SWIPE website
- seminar programme for participants on the theme of globalisation
- international conference to disseminate the work of the project
- raised awareness of cross-national social problems locally and nationally in each country
