James is a senior software developer and has several years experience within the Centre of Excellence in Terrorism, Resilience, Intelligence and Organised Crime Research (CENTRIC) institute at Sheffield Hallam University. Prior to joining CENTRIC he had a successful career as a Director of a private SME from which he brings a wealth of knowledge; including systems analysis and system design, as well as practical implementation. These projects apply innovative approaches in the gathering and analysis of open-source intelligence by using various technologies to identify and aid the prevention of emerging organised threats. James plays a key role in the design and development of collaborative projects with the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and also with the United Nations Department of Safety & Security (UNDSS) for the security of its personnel. His primary focus is on the development, application and impact of mobile technologies in solving security, policing and humanitarian needs and requirements.
