audit of current practice

The first piece of work for the project was for each university to describe the key elements of their learning and teaching processes, both within the university and on-site. From a series of questions sent out at the beginning of the project each university participant brought their audit to the first joint meeting. The results of this exercise which grew longer through our discussions, are presented below.

First there is a commentary on the audit on the findings and this is followed by a set of tables which briefly list the data of the audit . This work was undertaken by a member of the local Sheffield network Alan Sanders.

The audit is a tool that played an important role in breaking the ice in our first meeting and enabled us to identify common and different understandings of commonly used terms and processes. In its final form it is a tool that can be used to identify key differences in our education systems, whether it be for research, collaborative projects or organising international student placements.
