Ruth Barley is a sociology lecturer in the Faculty of Development and Society with research interests in diversity and inclusion. Ruth also has links with two research centres at SHU: Centre for Health & Social Care Research and Centre for Education & Inclusion Research.
Ruth's teaching and research interests lie in the following areas
- diversity - particularly ethnicity, language, culture and class
- equality and inequality
- social inclusion/exclusion
- identity
- qualitative research methods - particularly ethnographic methods
Ruth is working closely with Sarah Salway on this project. Together they are undertaking the bulk of the review and consultation work.
