Research Development Workshops: Exploring Ethnic Diversity in UK Social Research

A series of free workshops is being run in Sheffield and London to examine issues relating to good ethical and scientific practice when researching ethnic diversity in UK Social Research.

Using a combination of teaching and discussions workshops will explore:

  • how to increase the quality of research
  • ethical and scientific issues
  • guidance for good practice throughout the whole research process
  • findings from an ongoing JRF funded project

Four tailored workshops are planned. These are aimed at researchers and commissioners.

15th April for researchers in HEIs (particularly junior researchers & doctoral students) and hosted by Sheffield Hallam University
16th April for researchers in government departments and hosted by Sheffield Hallam University
27th April for researchers in private research agencies and hosted by London Metropolitan University
28th April for commissioners and funders of social research and hosted by London Metropolitan University

Workshop facilitators will include: Dr. Sarah Salway, Professor George Ellison, Dr. Peter Allmark, Punita Chowbey, Mubarak Ismail, Ruth Barley and Helen Barnard (Joseph Rowntree Foundation)
