Key note presentations were given by:
Dame Geraldine Keegan (Word 56KB), Headteacher of St Mary's College, Londonderry, Northern Ireland, winners of the 2001 European Quality Award for the Public Sector.
Katalin Molnar-Stadler (Word 38.5KB), Director of the Hungarian COMENIUS 2000 Quality Improvement Programme.
The group also shared a variety of experiences of excellence in an educational context, including looking at challenges and issues. A number of issues arose which are to be included as agenda items for future meetings.
These include:
- Implementation strategies and barriers (of introducing the concepts of excellence through using the EFQM Excellence Model into Education)
- Understanding process management in Education
- Leadership styles in Education
- Facilitating contact between experienced Education practitioners and prospective Model users in Education
