{"id":22,"date":"2026-01-08T13:26:10","date_gmt":"2026-01-08T13:26:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.shu.ac.uk\/twitchefficacytrial\/?page_id=22"},"modified":"2026-03-24T13:19:24","modified_gmt":"2026-03-24T13:19:24","slug":"timeline","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/research.shu.ac.uk\/twitchefficacytrial\/programme\/timeline\/","title":{"rendered":"Timelines: What will the project look like?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The project timelines on this page highlight the main milestones&nbsp;to the programme and you\u2019ll find further information and answers to common questions so you know what to expect at each stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;TWiTCH&nbsp;Efficacy Trial will run from September 2026 \u2013 July 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u00a0would like to\u00a0continue to\u00a0understand whether the\u00a0TWiTCH\u00a0ONE programme is effective in improving\u00a0language\u00a0outcomes for children compared to preschool education as usual.\u00a0For this reason, we will split the settings that have signed up for the programme into two groups:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An<strong>\u202fintervention group<\/strong>, who will receive the programme between&nbsp;November 2026 \u2013 July 2027.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And a\u202f<strong>control group<\/strong>, who will&nbsp;continuing with usual story time practice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All settings will be randomly assigned to a group in&nbsp;Oct \u2013 early Nov, making sure that the two groups are matched for some characteristics of the settings. A final eligibility check will be carried out before your setting is formally enrolled in the trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When will settings hear whether they have been allocated to the intervention or control group?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Settings will be informed of their group allocation between October and early November 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This window allows&nbsp;the research team to complete&nbsp;pre-programme child assessments and&nbsp;ensure&nbsp;allocations are&nbsp;accurate&nbsp;and fair. Once your setting\u2019s allocation is confirmed,&nbsp;you\u2019ll&nbsp;receive a direct update with the next steps and any information you may need to prepare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When will the&nbsp;TWiTCH&nbsp;programme be delivered&nbsp;to intervention settings?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme will be delivered from November 2025 through to&nbsp;early&nbsp;July 2027. During this period,&nbsp;intervention&nbsp;settings will receive all training, resources, and support needed to implement the programme and take part in the evaluation activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When will&nbsp;the&nbsp;pre- and&nbsp;post-programme child assessments&nbsp;be carried out&nbsp;by the researchers?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Pre programme child assessments&nbsp;will take place from September to early November 2026, and&nbsp;post programme child assessments&nbsp;will run from June to early July 2027. Pretesting will take place from September to early November 2026, and&nbsp;end testing&nbsp;will run from June to early July 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When will&nbsp;settings receive thank you payments?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you payments will be issued to&nbsp;settings&nbsp;at the end of the project, in July 2027. These will be processed once all final activities are complete, and participants will receive confirmation when payments are released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:35px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When will the evaluation results be published?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The evaluation results will be published in Summer 2028.
