About

Welcome to the Multimodality in Education Research Network at Sheffield Hallam University. We are open to all researchers and teachers with an interest in multimodality in education.

The purpose of the network is to develop existing international and national relationships with organisations, SIGs and networks researching multimodality and digital literacies. Our aim is to foster innovation in multimodality theory and methodology. Our plan is to hold 3 seminars led by external speakers each year, together with presentations from SHU researchers working in areas such as  Early Years, H.E., Digital Literacy, and Secondary school classrooms on an ad hoc basis. The intention is that the seminars will initiate international dialogues and support collaborative research. A longer-term aim is an international 2 day conference (2024) to bring together interested participants.

In this site you will find links to work produced at SHU which you are welcome to browse, introductions from SHU staff working in multimodality in education and details of events being held at Sheffield Hallam University. Please do get in contact if you are interested in any of the events or wish to talk with us about our work.
