Lab4Living has been recognised as an exemplary inter-disciplinary project with the capacity to impact significantly on people’s quality of life through its work.  Such is its recognition that it is playing a key role within the Engineering for Life launch event at Sheffield Hallam University on 14th October.

Through an award from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council an installation developed by L4L will provide the focus for a field lab where visitors will have the opportunity to contribute to the innovative work around bathroom design.  Interactive displays include the  ‘bog blog’ , a Big Brother style video room where people can share their pet loves and hates about the bathroom and a modelling suite where visitors can get to grips with the challenges of bathroom design.

This is just one of a series of events that aims to build a network of passionate researchers who will push the boundaries of inter-disciplinary working.

Professor Peter Lansley Director of the Strategic Promotion of Ageing Research Capacity will be speaking at the event.  For more details, contact
