For more than a decade I have been researching children\u2019s friendships within the 4-11 years age phase, because friendship means so much to children and impacts upon their wellbeing, development and learning. I have written and contributed to many <a href=\"https:\/\/research.shu.ac.uk\/friends\/publications\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"160\">publications<\/a> on the subject.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">My most recent project explored how children maintained their friendships during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research heard the voices of 10 children (7\u201311\u2009years) in England regarding their friendships. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">Creative participatory methods were used, including drawings, photography and collages, and accompanying unstructured interviews. The children talked about their virtual interactions, street\/doorstep visits, artwork, and friendship disruption. These conversations with children are important for supporting children\u2019s friendships during this period of \u2018Covid recovery\u2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:16px\">This article referenced below was the impetus for developing the <em>Children&#8217;s Friendships Matter<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/research.shu.ac.uk\/friends\/podcasts\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"78\">podcast series<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse has-light-blue-background-color has-background\" style=\"font-size:16px;font-style:normal;font-weight:300\">Carter, C., Barley, R., &amp; Omar, A.
