Dr. Chris Roast

Dr. Chris Roast is an experienced researcher and knowledge exchange practitioner. He has led various inter-disciplinary projects funded by UK national bodies including the Technology Strategy Board and Intellectual Property Office. He has worked as a knowledge transfer champion and leads the Interaction Design Team in delivering a European regional development project aimed at introducing innovation to regional SMEs (Innovation Futures). He has been instrumental in setting up Sheffield Hallam University’s Games Studio “Steel Minors”. His research interests include the psychology of programming, augmented reality and human factors. He has been an active member of the HCI community for over twenty years, and been responsible for HCI conferences, he has worked as an editorial board member for Interaction with Computers (Elsevier Journal), and he is an observer on IFIP working group 2.7 / 13.4 on User Interface Engineering.
