AUGGMED

The AUGGMED project is part of the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 program spanning the course of three years. The project will develop a multimodal virtual reality and mixed reality training platform to enable single and team-based training of end-users with different levels of expertise from different organisations responding to terrorist and organised crime threats.

The platform will automatically generate non-linear scenarios tailored to suit the needs of individual trainees with learning outcomes that will improve the acquisition of emotional management, analytical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. The game scenarios will include advanced simulations of operational environments, agents, telecommunications and threats, and will be delivered through virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR) environments with multimodal interfaces.

AUGGMED will utilise state of the art games and server technology alongside cutting edge haptic feedback and control systems to deliver a fully immersive, adaptable and realistic training experience which can be suited to the needs of specialised trainee’s.

The aim of the AUGGMED project is to create a single, user focused platform which will allow multiple agents from across Europe to train simultaneously in a single environment under the supervision of a selection of specialised trainers. Through this platform large multi-agency exercises will be possible at a fraction of the resource cost current exercises require.
