What is AHP WRaP?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Over the next 5 years, our Allied Health Professions Workforce Research Partnership \u2013 or AHP WRaP – will work with NHS managers and healthcare staff, patients and their carers to investigate how best to use AHP staff in the delivery of healthcare services, understand why AHP staff shortages happen and explore ways to improve care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AHPs provide essential services across urgent, emergency, acute and community settings. However, AHP services are short-staffed, and this can affect patient care and waiting times – especially in rural and coastal communities. This means some people can\u2019t get imaging, cancer treatment and rehabilitation when they need it. These shortages also affect the working conditions and well-being of AHPs, which may make them want to leave the NHS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
