Reflections on the Miners' Strike of 1984-85

"Reflections on the Miners' Strike of 1984-85" was an exhibition held at the Crucible theatre, July - August 1994 to mark the 10th anniversary of the Miners' Strike in South Yorkshire. It includes 43 photographs taken by photo-journalists and the exhibition catalogue records oral testimony from people in the coalfield communities.

The photographers were working freelance in the Yorkshire area during the strike and the photographs were intended for newspaper publication. Most have been seen before though some are unpublished. The photographers were John Harris, Martin Jenkinson and John Sturrock

The photographs and exhibition material form an archive which is stored in the Special Collection of Sheffield Hallam University
