NHS Facilities Management Network

The aim of the NHS Network is to develop best practice in FM in the sector and provide an independent arena to exchange experiences, innovations and collaboration with like minded professionals. The promotion and development of best practice is facilitated by CFMD through an annual programme of research and workshops.

Whether you are currently managing in-house or outsourced facilities, and whatever the size of the operation, the NHS FM Network is an ideal opportunity to keep up-to-date with new policy developments, best practice, private sector innovations and case studies from the sector.

To ensure that the learning facilitated by the annual programme is of direct relevance and of practical use, topics are nominated and voted upon by Members. The workshops allow staff to learn from and network with other case studies, governmental speakers, private sector case studies, contractors and academic perspectives on a variety of FM issues. Network members can also participate in three projects each year. The approaches to research vary to include benchmarking, interviews, surveys and case studies, but all aim to make the projects valuable to the FM practitioner.

The Network has a Steering Group which comprises key CFMD personnel and representatives from Member organisations. These form the main decision-making bodies for all aspects of the Network's activities and ensure that CFMD's work is highly relevant to the members.

The benefits of joining the NHS FM Network include

  • a programme of 8 quality workshops focused on policy updates, best practice, case studies and opinion
  • networking and collaborating on common FM issues within and across sectors
  • participation in a focused NHS FM research programme
  • access to the past and current research findings

To become a member of the Network, the members pay an annual membership fee.  The fees for NHS Trusts are based on the Trust's total income and for the Private Sector FM providers based on the size of the organisations.

Membership is institutional and not personal, so any staff from the Trust or private sector organisation can attend the workshops and benefit from our past and present research projects.

If you are interested in becoming a member, please complete the Membership Form and fax it back to Helen Agahi on 0114 225 4038. For more information please download the brochure (PDF 349KB) or contact the network manager, Helen Agahi
