Additional Support to Stay Active

In addition to the DVD, there will be an opportunity for a limited number of people to receive additional FREE motivational support and monitoring as part of a research project.  Maintaining increases in exercise or physical activity can often be challenging for people. The aim of the research project is to help people who have recently become more active, to stay active over the long term.

If you think you would find this support useful and you have recently received the DVD and have started to be more active, then you may be eligible to take part. Almost two hundred people in Sheffield have already participated in the project.  Comments from volunteers have included:

"The support sessions were really useful!  It's not often you can sit down and talk to someone who really listens about your goals and what is important to you."

"I found the feedback from the activity monitors very interesting - it showed me how many calories I was burning whilst I did different activities like walking, swimming and aerobics, as well as housework."

How do I find out more?

As this research is funded for a restricted period, there are only a limited number of places available. To book an appointment or if you have any questions, please call the Booster Research Team on (0114) 225 2585 or email: booster@shu.ac.uk, quoting "Further Support", and one of our team will be happy to help.
