Welcome to 'Booster'

‘Booster’ is a new project which aims to promote fitness and help Sheffield residents become more physically active by using a free interactive DVD which provides tailored physical activity advice. To find out more about the "Get Active, Stay Active" DVD, click here.

Over the coming months, we will be writing to people aged 40-64 across the city offering them a copy of the DVD.  However, instead of working like an exercise regime, the DVD focuses on how to make active choices and changes, featuring real local people, local opportunities and facilities around Sheffield.  The DVD will also be accompanied by information about opportunities to be active in the local community and will only be available by returning the postage paid reply card included with the invite letter.

Due to the number of people living in Sheffield some people may not receive an invite for some weeks, if you would like to find out when to expect your invite, click here.

Who is funding the project?

This project is funded by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Health Technology Assessment programme (project number 07/25/02).  The work is a collaboration between the University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University, NHS Sheffield and Sheffield City Council.
